LESSON SPEAKER: Clyde Eisenbeis – “The “Why” and “How” of Parliamentary Procedure
Did you know ..?..the practice of meetings conducted with organized “laws” began in 16th century England. The first manual for orderly meetings in the United States was published by Thomas Jefferson. Today, the basic standard is Roberts Rules of Order.
These rules govern how a meeting, and the matters being discussed should be handled. Using a standard format to run meetings of clubs, organizations and governing bodies insures an orderly gathering providing: #1. justice and courtesy for all. #2, One order of business is handled at a time. #3. Majority rule is adhered to. #4. Rights of the minority are protected.
We are fortonate to have a Master Scholar of Parliamentay Procedure be our trainer. The one
and only, Clyde Eisenbeis, DTM of the Marshalltown Crosswinds Toastmastes Club will share his wisdom. A guru of the subjet plus an expert trainer, Clyde can make the subjet both fun and easy to undertand. Don ‘t miss a GREAT, worthwhile lesson!!
Whether you are a member of a group…or you Chair a group, this lesson is an excellent example of influential eduational skills we all should know to present ourselves as a learned ‘professional.’ Session equally great for review….or the ‘first time covered.”
