Los Oradores Toastmasters Club will mark its 25th anniversary. In honor of the occasion, a celebration will be held on October 24, 2015 at DMACC Urban Campus. Members of the public are invited to learn more about Toastmasters and to attend the event by emailing [email protected].
Since 1990 the club has been dedicated to helping people become better speakers in English and Spanish and turn into exemplary leaders. Los Oradores Toastmasters Club provides a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to overcome their fear of public speaking and sharpen their presentation skills,” says Clemen Wilcox, Vice-President of Public Relations. “Other benefits include the opportunity to increase one’s confidence, build critical thinking skills, improve their knowledge of English or Spanish, and become an effective listener,” says Wilcox.
Some of the club’s notable members are Ian Edwards, International President 1995/1996 and several Distinguished Toastmasters. Los Oradores meets first and third Thursdays of the month at 6:30 PM at the Urbandale Library on 86th Street between Hickman and Douglas in Urbandale.
