On July 1, 2014, Toastmasters International will put into action a new Education Program. TI is calling the change “one of the organization’s most significant in recent memory” that will “have a profound impact.” Details have not yet been revealed, but we do know there will be a path for completion of ongoing awards not completed by July 1. The new program will also include new uses of technologies to expand digital content and enhance learning.
To help clubs and members make the transition to the new system, Toastmasters is building a team of “Ambassadors” to visit clubs and guide them through the changes. Ambassadors will:
- Educate other members about the revitalized program
- Provide updates as the project progresses
- Explain the program’s enhancements
- Spread the word about its benefits for Toastmasters
- Visit clubs and answer members’ questions
- Work closely with the Chief Ambassador to share member feedback and questions
Past District 19 Governor Doug Nelson has been appointed by Toastmasters International to be the Chief Ambassador in our District. He will oversee the ambassador team, which will be appointed in September, so act soon to identify candidates or self-nominate. Applications are accepted only through August 26th (Thursday).
