Call for District Leader Nominations

An opportunity to serve others!

District boundaries are shifting on July 1, 2026; as a result, we need enthusiastic leaders more than ever.

The District Leadership Committee is taking nominations for qualified candidates between now and January 31, 2026, for the positions listed below.  A description and the qualifications for each elected and appointed position are listed here. Qualified candidates for elected positions only will be contacted for an interview with the DLC  Interviews during the month of February.

Elected Positions:

  • District Director
  • ​​Program Quality Director
  • Club Growth Director
  • Division Directors

Appointed Positions:

  • Area Directors (Various Areas)
  • Public Relations Manager
  • Finance Manager
  • Administration Manager
  • Logistics Manager
  • Parliamentarian 

These positions all provide valuable leadership experience, the opportunity to grow your personal network, and the chance to make a positive difference in the lives of others. If you’ve seen the benefits of being a leader in Toastmasters at the club or district level, we invite you to continue your leadership journey in 2026-2027!

What To Do If You Want To Run For Office

With the district boundaries changing, the process is just a bit different than previous years. Our general guidance is, “if you want to be a district leader, don’t stress about details – fill out the paperwork, and we’ll help you figure out the rest.”

If you’re interested in the details of how this will all work:

  • Candidates from Districts 8, 19, 35, and 54 will be running for office in either District 211 or District 212.
  • You may only seek office in one district.
  • You must be a member of a club which is moving to the district you’re seeking office in.
  • If your club is in District 8, your club will be moving to District 211.
  • If your club is in District 35, your club will be moving to District 212.
  • If your club is in District 54 or District 19, please consult the list of clubs moving to District 212.
  • Clubs on that list will be moving to District 212.
  • Clubs not on that list will be moving to District 211.

Area Director(s) – 7 Possible Positions
These positions will begin on July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025, with option to extend up to 2 consecutive years of service. 

Duties – Boots on the ground link between clubs and the District for 4-6 clubs. Provide support and increase engagement at the club level. Visit each assigned club and complete a report at least twice per year. Assist with club officer training. Organize area speech contests. Attend and vote at DEC and DC meetings.

Club Growth Committee

Club Growth is essential to having a successful Toastmasters district. Now is your chance to get invovled with a great team focusing on making our district strong and our clubs even stronger. Members of this committee will report to our Club Growth Director, Mathew Kanour. Below is more information about this committee.

Club Growth Committee – This group is composed of experienced Toastmasters to help assist with membership growth throughout the District and develop new club leads, including conducting demo meetings.  May include service as Club Sponsor or Mentor for new clubs or Club Coach for low-membership clubs.

Public Relations Committee

There are many ways to get involved with Public Relations! You will be working closely with our Public Relations Manager to keep the district up to date with information and events. These roles will report to our Public Relations Manager.

A few roles on the committee include:

Assistant Webmaster – In this role, you will help keep our District 19 Website up to date. Key updates on the website include the District Calendar, registration & updates for events, and blog posts from fellow Toastmasters. Experience for this role ispreferred, but will train willing volunteers! 

Social Media Coordinator – In this role, you will post and help keep our social media pages up to date. This includes the District 19 Facebook page, District 19 Facebook Group, and the District 19 Instagram. Experience with Social Media is preferred, but will train willing volunteers!  

Email Communications Coordinator – In this role, you will help send email communications to our District 19 members. Important communications include trainings, conference updates, and the You Ought To Know monthly newsletter. Experience with Mailchimp is preferred, but will train willing volunteers!

Elected Offices - Start July 1

Elected Offices
Once elected, those who hold the following positions will do so from July 1st – June 30th.

Each year, the District elects a District Director, Program Quality Director, Club Growth Director and Division Directors.  Nominations are open in January for April elections. Qualifications vary for each role and individuals wishing to be considered must interview with the District Leadership Committee (DLC). Only those who have completed the evaluation process conducted by the DLC are eligible to run from the floor and must declare their intent to run to the District Director at least seven days prior to the elections. Candidates nominated by the DLC and floor candidates must comply with campaign restrictions and may participate in a candidate showcase.
