Club presidents and secretaries should have received at least one email from Toastmasters International explaining the proxy process for the business meeting at next month’s International Conference in Cincinnati. A club has four choices – either send someone to the meeting in Cincinnati (great choice!), assign your proxy to another active Toastmaster who is attending (good choice), assign the proxy to District Governor Anne Chapman, who will be attending (another good choice), or ignore the whole thing (very bad choice). Be sure your club’s voice is heard at the International Conference, and at least give Anne the votes needed to make sure District 19 is heard. For those clubs that have already submitted their proxies, DG Anne says, “Thank you.”
As explained in the email from International, your club may designate its proxy by following these instructions:
- Go to club central
- Click on the club name of which you are president or secretary
- Click on the Assign/Delegate Club Proxy link
This will take you to the club proxy submission page where you will make your selection from the list provided. You will have the option of casting your vote for or against Proposal A, which is summarized here (proxy questions), or you can view details here (club amendments). Or if you leave it blank and let the proxyholder vote as he or she wishes. If you have questions, contact District Governor Anne Chapman at [email protected].
