One of the ways the district pays for the costs of a conference is by holding a raffle for baskets that clubs or individuals contribute. Each club or individual selects a theme for the basket, and club members contribute goods (or money to buy goods) for the basket. We suggest that the total value of the contents be $50-75. The baskets will be displayed in the library during the conference. We’ll sell raffle tickets for $1 each, or 13 for $10. Conference attendees buy the raffle tickets, write their names on them, and drop them into a box in front of the basket(s) they like. At the end of the conference, we’ll select one ticket for each raffle basket. Clubs are encouraged to review the raffle basket ideas, and sign up to provide a basket, at the raffle basket signup. These are just ideas, feel free to come up with your own basket idea!
