Professional Achievers Club #8132
Area 51 – Division C – District 19 – Region IV
Meets Second Saturdays, Monthly – 1 to 4 p.m., with “Post Toasties” until 5 p.m.
Altoona Public Library 700 8th Street S. W. Altoona, Iowa
As active Toastmasters, we all are clearly mindful of “what Toastmasters can – and has done for members.”
We Professional Achievers members meet monthly to experiment or “road test” a new or just revised speech, a manual lesson or a presentation – and to receive candid, detailed evaluations of the practice presentation.
Recently, a bold – and totally beneficial thought occurred to a “P.A.” member. Because the norm for most Toastmaster clubs is one, or up to two hour meetings, this time frame provides few-to- no opportunities to practice or polish a pending speech, training presentation, or lesson before a live, experienced audience to receive a constructive critique and feedback.
Our monthly “P.A.” format of 1 to 4 p.m. provides the opportunities for a one or one-and-a-half
hour seminar or workshop – plus two 15 to 20 or 25 to 30 minute presentations.
The club members discussed/decided to offer this ‘inspiration’ as a golden opportunity and constructive service to any District 19 member. In addition, the offer perpetuates Toastmasters’ encouraging and helpful commitment to help and assist fellow members and others.
Therefore, District 19 members . . . if you desire such an opportunity to “test tun” your speech or presentation (within the time restrictions mentioned above,) just contact the Vice Pres. of Education of Professional Achievers, Joan at (515-570-7660 – or – [email protected]) to confirm a date and time frame. We look forward to following Toastmasters’ mission: “We empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.”
Sincerely,
Members of the Professional Achievers Toastmasters’ Club #8132
