Fellow Toastmasters,
It is with much regret that I tell you I am resigning as District Governor. My job has changed so drastically that I no longer have the time that is necessary to be an effective District leader.
I leave the role knowing that we have a slate of leaders who are willing and able to help all of our members achieve their goals.
Our Immediate Past District Governor has stepped in to be the Interim District Governor. Kelly Nielsen knows the role, of course, but more importantly, she is well-versed on the current condition of the District, from a membership, club, and budget prospective.
But official-stuff aside, I do want to say it was a great honor to be elected, and I am disappointed I wasn’t able to fulfill my commitment. However, the District must come first, so I made the difficult decision that you would be better served by my stepping aside. All of you have been my mentors in one way or another, and I thank you for your support and assistance.
I’m so grateful that Kelly has agreed to step in, so I can move forward knowing that the District membership is in good hands.
Best wishes to you all.
Anne Chapman, DTM
