Editor’s Note: As new District 19 Governor Anne Chapman settles into her new role at the bottom of the District Management Chart, we thought you might find it interesting to see what it’s like to be DG, and an appreciation of the leadership opportunity the role offers. Here’s Anne’s “To Do” list for three days in mid-July.
Sunday-
-Send invitation to go-to meeting for phone call this evening (should have sent it yesterday.)
-Send evaluations of yesterday’s DEC meeting so we can discuss during the call.
-Phone meeting with Ryan Avery, World Champion of Public Speaking, regarding his 50 District Tour.
-Phone call with Trio+ (Mark, Paul and Mike.) Lots to go over and it lasted 90 minutes instead of 60.
Monday-
-Received June’s District Reserve Statement from International.
-Many back and forth emails with PRO regarding release of new website.
-Mentally draft emails to DEC members regarding badges. (Email them tomorrow.)
-Register for Int’l Convention and reserve hotel room.
-Telephone meeting with other Region 4 District Governors, Int’l Director and Region Advisor (60 minutes.)
Tuesday-
-Email Lt. Governors requesting advance authorization for hotel expenditure for Int’l Convention
-Can’t find list of DEC badge information—email District Secretary to see if she has it? Found it, and emailed secretary with apology.
-Email DEC members for badge information.
-Email Int’l Director Candidates to scheduled interviews during week of Int’l Convention.
-Email potential Area Governor candidates (a few remaining spots).
-Finish speech to be given at club meeting on Saturday.
